About This Blog
The Charlotte Real Estate Guy Blog is published by Kerry B. Beach, Real Estate Consultant and Broker Associate of Helen Adams Realty in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I created this blog as a place for providing information to my clients and other interested parties, and ultimately, a place for a dialogue with readers. I hope that you will find the information I provide, and the comments of other readers, to be both informative and thought-provoking.
My articles will be somewhat wide-ranging, in that my professional practice includes brokerage activities in new and resale residential, light commercial and investment properties, plus occasional consulting, coaching and teaching. If you check my Real Estate Professionals category, over time you will see that I have some strong opinions about how real estate agency should be practiced, and a set of principles and values I adhere to in my own practice, which will be explained in those articles.
My background and experience before real estate was in engineering and technology for almost four decades, so I may sometimes comment on technology applied to real estate, and I have a definite interest in home design and building, including green techniques and residential energy technologies. I may occasionally post about my “someday to be remodeled” home and the grandiose plans I have for it! If you are a DIY fan or dream home dreamer, you may find those articles informative and entertaining.
I have also included a category named “Passions,” where I will occasionally announce events related to two areas of my life outside real estate. My wife is a professional musician and music teacher (flute and piano), and regularly performs in varied venues around Charlotte. We also have several talented friends and colleagues, so I will be spreading the word on great local performances of classical and jazz music whenever I can. Please send comments for other local musical events, and we will do our best to put them on the blog.
My other passion is high-performance and exotic cars. Though I am not (yet) fortunate enough to own a Ferrari, I am a member of the Charlotte Area Ferrari Enthusiasts. For those of you who are interested, I will announce events and other news of interest to car fans in the area.
Obviously, this blog is part of the promotion of my real estate business, but I promise to strive to provide knowledge and information rather than overtly promote my property listings and my services. My business is based on knowledge and service, not excessive marketing. If I get off track, please feel free to kick me back on track.
One thing this blog is not: this blog is not intended to create a community or social networking site. There are plenty of such sites already available that work very well for the folks who desire a more open and unrestricted community relationship. I already belong to a professional group on LinkedIn, and a local investor group through MeetUp, and can barely find time sometimes to participate in those. This does not mean that I am not open to other views and ideas; it just is a recognition that this vehicle is intentionally limited to the aims stated above, and will not try to go beyond that. I absolutely want your comments and feedback, and will do my best to have a dialogue with you and share your thoughts with the readers whenever appropriate.
