Welcome to My Improved Blog!

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

It took too much time away from new posts, but I now have the WordPress blog up and running!  It will be a lot easier on me using this software instead of publishing each post on the old static HTML site.  It should also be a lot easier for readers to view and comment on posts.

I still have some work to do on the layout, which will hopefully get done in the next couple of weeks.  What you see currently is the default WordPress theme.  We are working on making this blog match the new website, which is part of the new Helen Adams Realty web site being developed by ActiveWebsite.  You can check out my new site at www.KerryBeachHomes.com; it’s still under construction for now, but should be finished soon.  Please let me know what you think on both of these sites.  Your comments and feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

It’s been two weeks since I last published, and that’s too long, so I apologize. I have been focused on helping several past clients and new clients take advantage of the first-time home buyer tax credit, and also spent a few days under the weather, so to speak. I am glad to be back on the blog!

I can’t really tell you that the Charlotte market has turned, but there continue to be encouraging signs. (more…)

Real Estate Consumers Expectations and Attitudes

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

In this installment of my series on the real estate agent as consultant, I want to write about my view of the attitudes and expectations of most consumers today, in general and specifically with regard to real estate services.

I fully recognize that there is a great danger in this exercise, the danger being that it is all too easy to project one’s own prejudices into one’s opinion of what motivates the general public. (more…)

The Traditional Sales Model for Real Estate Agents

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

This is the second installment in my series on the real estate agent as consultant. Since I need to keep these articles much shorter than a chapter in a traditional book, we will be taking small steps each time. In this article, I will explain the traditional sales model and how it is applied to real estate agency. (more…)
